Why Screen Printing?

Screen printing is a tried and trusted method to brand your uniforms.

You can print on most garments including t-shirts, polos, jackets, bags and aprons using this highly versatile printing method.

Note: minimum order of 25 garments, all receiving the same size print.

With screen printing, your logo is reproduced squeezing inks through mesh screens directly onto your garments. A separate mesh screen is required for each colour in your logo so designs with many colours cost more than simple one colour designs.

Artwork & Film Positives

Screen printing starts with artwork. Your artwork has to be separated into solid colours and a separate mesh screen is prepared for each colour. These separate films are adhered to separate screens, which has coating of emulsion for exposing.

Screen Exposing

Screens are exposed with UV light for a short period, burning the artwork into the emulsion. The areas of the screen not covered by the artwork will have turned hard. Any unhardened emulsion is then carefully rinsed away. This leaves a clear imprint of the design on the screen for the ink to pass through.

Printing

The screen is then placed onto the printing press. Ink is added to the top end of the screen, and a squeegee is used to pull the ink along the full length of the screen. This presses the ink through the open areas of the stencil, imprinting the design on the garment underneath.

Curing

The printed product is then applied with heat to 'cure' the ink and creates a smooth, colourfast finish.
